Typical kit list for water activities

This is the typical kit list for water activities including canoeing, kayaking, sailing and rafting.  It will give you an idea of what kit you’ll typically need but, please, always check the activity/event specific kit lists!

To go on the water (clothes that can get wet)

• Wetsuit OR
• Synthetic t-shirt/rash vest (cotton soaks up more water and will feel colder)
• Synthetic shorts/tracksuit trousers (NO JEANS)

• Fleece top / light weight sweatshirt
• Wind/waterproof jacket (pac-a-mac style, to reduce wind chill)
• Wet shoes / old trainers
• Sun cream & hat (if sunny)
• Cord/strap to secure glasses

Off the water

• Towel
• Complete change of clothes & shoes
• Drink and snack
• Personal medication if needed
